How to Become a Hosted Buyer

Working with a network of selected intermediaries, key buyers are invited to apply to attend as part of an intermediary's hosted buyer group.

To qualify as hosted buyers, buyers must be responsible for planning, organizing, recommending or making financial decisions for corporate meetings and hospitality, incentive travel programs, association meetings, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, roadshows, product launches, promotional events or training programs.

IMEX requires full details of 3 events buyers have organized or are organizing (IMEX will verify these events by calling the venues):

  • 2 events must have occurred within the last 18 months

  • 1 event can be an upcoming event in the next 12 months

2 events must be outside of a buyer's home country and 1 event must be in the United States.

United States buyers may list 3 international events.

What’s Included in the Hosted Buyer Program Package?

  • *Round trip coach class airfare:

    Organized by the buyer and refunded by IMEX within our flight bands

    OR

    Booked from selected destinations by IMEX

    * Please note: round trip airfare is not included for Individual Longhaul / International hosted buyers.

    Round trip airfare is only for Association Buyers and those invited by an Intermediary.

     

  • Accommodation at one of our partner hotels:

    Up to 2 nights’ accommodation for buyers based in the United States and Canada

    Up to 4 nights’ accommodation for buyers based outside of the United States and Canada

What's Required of Hosted Buyers?

Buyers are required to make and attend a minimum of eight appointments per day with exhibitors of their choice using the Virtual Exhibition and Online Schedule, including group appointments arranged by their intermediaries. Buyers participating in the Hosted Buyer Program must also agree to IMEX America's terms and conditions.
